Blast ’Em was the theme of the junior float that tied for third, which was built at Lisa Sohl ' s home. Once again Rock Island High School Marching Band paraded through the downtown streets. Seniors capture first place in the activities sponsored by Senate. Billy Walker was the first lunch winner in the marshmallow stuff¬ ing contest, but second lunch winner, Bev Collier went on to take first place. Homecoming 7

I Love A Parade The 1976 Homecoming Parade began at 2:15 in downtown Rock Island. This year ' s parade was the biggest and most colorful Rocky has ever seen, with a large number of float entries. For the first year the freshmen were represent¬ ed in the parade, with one float from each East and West Campus. Spirit and unity ran high as the par¬ ade threaded its way through the downtown dis¬ trict. The parade was at¬ tended by a huge crowd of spectators. Rocky East Campus took second place in the float contest. This float was built at the Robert Dan¬ ielson residence. Crimson Tide members boosted the spirits of those who attended the parade. Proud Seniors rode with their first place float. Lisa Kettman was the home sight for Moon ’Em. mm 6 Homecoming

A well constructed float turned into triumph for the sophomores. It was put together at Pete Lardner ' s. Homecoming Queen and King for 1976 were Beth Wright and Tony Scott. Beth was a member of Crimson Tide, the volley ball team and Campus Life. Tony was a football captain for three years, attended Boy ' s State and won Sec¬ tional in wrestling. 1 The 1976 candidates for King and I Queen were (FROM LEFT TO I RIGHT), Marc Beal, Kirt Platt, I Scott Allen, Tom Steele, Tony I Scott.
