After working all night on their homecoming float. Seniors are determined to finish before the start of the parade, even if it takes all day, too. A new marquis purchased by the 1974 Positive Peer Culture Group, greeted students with a mes¬ sage of welcome. This picture of the marquis, ap¬ peared in newspapers all over the Midwest. Marty Bea gets some extra basketball practice in gym class, after all. practice makes perfect.

Sophomores Dan Wittig and Anna Lefstem find that math classes also include learning how to use a computer. Sharing a locker isn ' t as convenient as it may seem, finds Nesrm Ansary as she watches her friends sort out who ' s who’s”. Some students may feel this year only another year of lost books, broken lock¬ ers, smashed pop cans, pre-natal cours¬ es, missed deadlines, seven absences and lost credit; but to others this was the year of tennis championships, re¬ trieved Mohawk awards, regained open- lunch, self-scheduling, new courses, a rebuilt basketball team, and an involved student senate. Growing school spirit during the 1974-1975 year made the community around us realize the Rock” is filled to the top with concerned young adults. Val Alvarenga, Rocky ' s guest from Brazil is all smiles about the American way of life - in¬ cluding English class! Rocky has undergone a change. This is the year when we open our own doors and make our own decisions. We are no longer treated as an identi¬ fication number or a part of the two- thousand and seventy-seven regis¬ tered students. We have become indi¬ viduals with responsibilities and heard opinions working with teachers and administrators on an open level. The first place winner in Senate s Holiday Door Decorating Contest” demonstrates a Santa that twirles a basketball on his finger, and his fire place that is fully equipped with sound effects.
