LUNCHTIME OFFERS 11:10 to 12:45 is the time designated as lunch period Students, dismissed by class, are allowed thirty minutes for lunch. Lunch time usually follows a pattern from classroom, to the lunch line, to the table, and then to the student lounge The walk from the lunch line to the table brings stares if your tray is filled full like these boys ' are.

CAMPUS CAUGHT IN COLOR Students enjoy the beautiful campus at Rocky and ap¬ preciate the amount of maintenance involved in the care of the many elm, buckeye, walnut, and crabapple trees. In charge of this responsibility is Kenneth A Lowe, head custo¬ dian. In the summer, when school begins and throughout the year this crew cares for the appearance of the school. This doorway is not only the entrance to a school, it is the portal to a high school education. These doors open to social functions as well as intellectual guidance. They symbolize accessibility to knowledge offered by Rock Island Senior High School. In 1939, these doors were first un¬ locked. In 1961, they opened the school year on September 5th.

BREAK IN DAY The cafeteria not only ser¬ ves as a food center but also as a social gathering. Here latest gossip is spread, tickets are sold for the dance, boy¬ friend and girlfriend meet and dabs of unfinished homework are crammed in between bites of lunch. Noon hour nearly always finds the student lounge filled to capacity. It is the supply room for candy, pop, and friends. Conversation and food engage these senior girls during the lunch hour break. INTRODUCTION
