Suez crisis, Hungarian revolt, and Posnam riot are among many topics discussed by American History panel members Eugene Hillman, Robert Thompson, James Lan¬ ders, Janet Rudasill, and Oena Booras. Interest in the social studies phase of high school curriculum has been boosted this year by the mock political convention, field trips, lecturers, and subscriptions to weekly news maga¬ zines. The department ' s chief aim is to show how man lives in society through the study of history, man ' s past soci¬ ety; government, how the present so¬ ciety is governed; economics, how to earn a living in the future; and geo¬ graphy, the world in which society lives.
