Indeed, true spirit was shown by the Soccer Team, which in many games shed lustre on the name of Rock Hill High School. Since soccer is still young, next year's team will be needing more support than this year's Bearcats. Let's work together and help recognize the team and the game as well! CRGSS CQU TRY - , , .1 , RHHS Cross Country Team. iLeft to rightzj Calvin Pickett, Tommy Hays. Kevin Murphy, Trey Turner, Chris Low, Jim Koterba, Scott Foulds, and Jimmy Dixon. The 1982 Cross Country 'Cats enjoyed another fine campaign. The 'Cats ended their season by placing as the sixth-best team in the state meet held at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C., with a record of 4-2. Losing only twice within the Region, to Spartanburg and Dorman, the 'Cats defeated Northwestern three times during the year. The team also competed in the McAlpine Coaches Invitational Meet, held in Charlotte, N.C., and finished eleventh out of twenty-four teams. Individual award winners for the 'Cats this year were Senior Calvin Pickett, who placed on the All-Region and All-State Teams. Calvin finished as the runner-up in the state meet as well, Junior Kevin Murphy also placed on the All-Region Team, Other Senior members on this year's team included Tommy Hays, Chris Low, Scott Foulds, and Captain Jim Koterba. y at FAREWELL TO COACH JIMMY MACK WALLACE! WW if W' , Rock High High School says good-bye this year to Coach J.M. Wallace, who has served ably as Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics of Rock Hill High School for the past seven years. Coach Wallace goes to Wofford College, at Spartanburg, South Carolina, to become Assistant Football Coach and Director of Recruiting for the well-known liber- al-arts college. Coach Wallace, his wife, and his chil- dren have been a vital part of the Bearcat family ever since they came to this school. RHHS wishes them bon voyage as they go to Spartanburg to join the Wofford community. 189
