THE BAND OF The members of the RHHS Band of Distinction are dedicated to excellence. A deep respect for Mr. Ellwanger and long hours of rehearsal during both marching and concert seasons contribute to the Band's success. In 1982, the Band of Distinction was awarded the Outstanding Performance trophy and fifth place at the State 4-A Marching Contest in Columbia. The marching band has been invited to perform at a national marching exhibition for the National College Band Directors Associ- ation. Again this year, the band received the highest honor awarded by the South Carolina Band Directors Association, the Outstanding Band Award. Band members actively participate in Solo and Ensemble Festi- val, Western Region and All-State Bands, and Concert Festival. The Band of Distinction of 1982 and '83 continues the tradition of bringing honor to RHHS. Ln-my A59
