The Jr.-Sr. Planning Committee is made up of Junior Class officers and homeroom presidents who take on the task of making all the preparations for the prom. Deciding on a theme and choosing a band are their major tasks, but they also take the lead role in the tediousjob ofdecorating the gym dur- ing the week of the prom. Of course, their hard work pays off when they enter the gym on prom night and absorb the pleasures ofa job well done. 91

SCIENCE CLUB The Science Club is a group of enthusi- astic students concerned with our worldls future. They see a need in every aspect of life for improvement. As bud- ding young scientists, they hope to find solutions to the major problems facing mankind. Many field trips have been planned for this year 's activities. The Club plans to see Charlotte's new Discovery Place, the Rock Hill Planetarium, several college science departments, a nuclear power plant, and several other interesting places. Projects to clean up and make Rock Hill High an even better place are in the planning stages. ST DE T CUUNCIL The Student Council as a whole serves mainly as representative body for the stu- dents. Their aim is to promote the welfare of the school while taking into consideration the wants of the students. The Student Council takes an active part in school ac- tivities by sponsoring numerous events throughout the year, including holiday fes- tivities, dances, and spirit week. Council members are elected as homeroom presi- dents and vice-presidents with officers elected from the entire student body. The Student Council not only keeps the school spirit alive but also provides members with an example of the democratic form of gov- ernment.
