Donnie McGinnis stormed the Bulldog defenses in the third quarter and smashed across the lone touchdown from eight yards out to give the Bearcats their first victory of the season. Camden dom- inated play in the first half, but the Bearcats held them scoreless. In the sec- ond half Bill Nies and Donnie McGinnis paced the Bearcat attack behind some fine blocking turned in by Bill Starnes and Glenn Lumpkin. McGinnis from eight yards out danced and dodged his way through two Iinebackers and went into the end zone untouched. Wheeles' try for the extra point was good. Hershel Carter and John Le Hecka each stopped a Cam- den drive to preserve Rock Hill's lead and victory. ANDERSON 7, ROCK HILL O Rock Hill seemingly plagued with bad luck, outran, outpassed, and outplayed Anderson High but lost the ball game. The Bearcats, showing their strength on offense, had four mighty drives to get inside the Yellow Jackets' 'I2 yard line, but each time they were stopped as the Anderson defense rose to the occasion. Even in losing, the Bearcats stole the show with the passing of Wheeles and the catches of Lumpkin. Anderson scored in the second period and added the extra point to lead 7-0. The Bearcats stormed right back and scored on a pass from Wheeles to Lumpkin, however, the touch- down was nullified because of an illegal receiver down field.
