The 'I45 piece Rock Hill High School Band, under the direction of Mr. Alfonso Nicosia assisted by Mr. Louie Hoff, launched its activities for the year by participating in the half-time show at the South Carolina Shrine Bowl Game in Columbia in August. The band played at all home football games and the out of town game with Lancaster, as well as the post season York-Lancaster County Charity Bowl Game. The band played in the Rock Hill and Fort Mill Christmas parades and the members attended their annual Christmas party in the school cafeteria. March and April brought the District and State contests in which the band received ratings in concert, sightreading, and marching. In May the band presented their annual Bond Hi Lights show, and, as usual, it was a success. ln addition to their activities, the band plays for various civic groups: the Easter Sunrise Service, and school assembly programs. Some members play solos and twirl batons in the District and State Contests.
