The National Thespian Society is an honorary or- ganization in which students are granted member- ship in recognition of excellent work in dramatic arts. The members of Troupe No. I59I, RHHS, quali- fied through participation in the Junior and Senior plays, oratorical contests, and other speech activi- ties. The membership consists of 23 sophomores and 22 freshmen. Any ninth or tenth grader, whose scholarship average is B or above and who plans to become a teacher, is eligible for membership. The club is affiliated with the South Carolina Education Association and with the National Education Association. Mrs. R. L. West- moreland is sponsor. This group of students renders an invaluable service to the school and especially to new students. This year, the sponsor, Mrs. Westmoreland, appointed the patrol whose duties are CID to keep students out of the buildings before the 8:30 bell in the mornings, f2J to assist new students who need help fol- lowing their schedule cards, Q31 to direct traffic, 14, to put an end to all conflicts in the hall. Patrol members wear Ask Me identification.
