National Honor Society of Rock Hill High School is a member of both the state and national associa- tions. Membership in High School is gained by Seniors and Juniors through scholarship, leadership, charac- ter, and unseltish service to school and community. The purpose ot the Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render ser- vice, to promote worthy leadership, and to encour- age the development of character in the pupils of Rock Hill High. Outstanding service rendered to high school is the yearly sponsorship of College Day and a Guidance Emphasis Week. The National Beta Club is a leadership service or- ganization of qualified high school students. The purpose of the club is to promote the ideals of hon- esty, service, and leadership among high school stu- dents, to reward meritorious achievement, and to en- courage students to continue their education after high school. Our local chapter engages in various proiects I during the year. One of the most worthwhile things we accomplish is to raise funds to provide a scholar- ship for some deserving senior member who plans to attend college.
