The opening ot school brought on the initiation of the Greenhands. At the County Fair, our Chapter won first place and fifty dollars with our educational exhibit. Most of the members exhibited entries in the livestock, crops, or horticultural departments. With the money from our prem- iums we attended the State Fair. ln November the F.F.A. with the Future Homemakers en- ioyed a square dance at the Coca Cola plant. Another party at Union Hall in December with the Home Ec girls. Mary Whitesides was selected as Chapter sweetheart. Also during the month we started the sale of garden seed and candy to raise Chapter funds. A number of members had prize winning entries in the RH Chamber of Commerce sponsored Steer Show. Other boys entered the judging contests, public speaking and parliamen- tary procedure contests. Our chapter presented several radio programs and one assembly program. Fifteen members are planning to attend the State Future Farmer Camp at Cherry Grove Beach in June. The aims and purposes of the Future Farmers of America are to develop a love for country life, to encourage members to improve their homes and farms, to participate in co-opera- tive eFfort, to encourage thrift, to encourage improvement in scholarship, develop leadership, and strive to develop good wholesome forms of recreational and social activities.
