A lot of hard work, but worth it! is the reason The Garnet and Black Staff publishes the monthly school newspaper. The deadlines may give the staff ulcers, but the paper also gives them memories-Irene and Arthur Page One Hundred Two ' t nv- 5' +. 4? slaving to get their late copy to the print shop, Mickey trying to think up a different way to arrange the sports page, Helene trying to balance the books, the dubious spelling of the reporters, and Mrs. Boze- more and Miss Stowe worrying about the money. The Garnet and Black is a member of the Na- tional Scholastic Association, the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association, Quill and Scroll, and competes monthly in the Winthrop College Story of the Month Contest.
