Basketball Captains Volleyball Champions and Runners Up Badminton Ping Pong More than 150 girls played in the volleyball tournament dur- ing October and November. This is the time of year the freshmen are meeting and learning to know other high school students, so the volleyball tournament has a kind of special meaning for them. The Yellow Jacket team, captained by Annie Hefner, finally won the volleyball championship after playing off a tie and out- scoring the Kittens in the last game. Of the 130 girls who participated in the basketball tourna- ment, 48 were chosen to go to Dreher High School in Columbia for our basketball playday on March 5. The girls always look for- ward to this trip, which gives them a chance to play against other G. A. A. teams as well as a day of fun and recreation together. In March we started our ping-pong and badminton tourna- ments. And with warmer weather, the girls were anxious to get their bats and take to the softball field. This year the G. A. A.
