Le Cercle Francais affords an aside from conjugations and Avoir ou Etref' It holds monthly meetings at which time the busi- ness is usually carried on en francais which unfortunately keeps it a secret from some members. There are some qualifications for mem- bership-such as Ubeaucoup d'interet and a certain average in scholarship. The first big event of the year was the initiation party where initiates were tickled by the Van Tassel powder puff , tortured by the t'Ellwanger ghost , and teased by the whole host of honored seniors led by that Hoagland youngun . In the spring, the club let the student body see some of its activities by presenting in assembly a variety program with a French flavor.
