A. had their in- itiation. The girls came to school dressed like freaks from the circus. This climaxed with a party and refreshments at the Coca- Cola Plant, where everyone had a wonder- ful time. October brought a square dance with the F. F. A.'s. Also the girls went to Columbia, S. C., to the State Fair. Here much fun was had. November, the J. H. A. packed baskets to be given to needy families at Thanksgiving. December, the J. H. A. made cookies for veterans in Columbia Hospital. They also had a Sweetheart Dance, where Sue Dab- ney was elected as F. F. A. Sweetheart. There are to be many more activities and fun in the future. At every monthly meet- ing, every second Thursday, plans are be- ing made for more activities. All help to develop leadership, well rounded personali- ties, and help us take more interest in our home and community.

In J. H. A. we feel that we are members of a fine, worthwhile organ- ization known and supported through- out the state. We not only learn sew- ing and cooking, but grooming and behavior which will prepare us as bet- f,,...g ter citizens and help us to better our community and home lives. Here a girl learns to get along with other people, to respect others' feel- ings, opinions, and belongings. What stands out above all is the harmony K with which the J. H. A. girls work while improving themselves, their seated, left to right: Corinna May, sue Dabney. homes and their future.
