AND CHEERLEADERS Swain Wright, Tinlcler, and lohnny Brunson were lead- ers in a Rock Hill line which played a magnificent game. ROCK HILL 21 GEORGETOWN 7 For the first time since l936 the Bearcats were meeting a foe other than Chester on Thanksgiving Day. Officials had decided that a cooling off period between the two old rivals was necessary. So, the Georgetown Gators came to Rock Hill, but they couldn't stop the Bearcats. Thirteen Beacats were play- ing their last game in a High School uniform and they bowed out in a blaze of glory. Captain Bobby Tinkler tallied the first touchdown when he made a leaping catch of a Karl Grice pass in the end zone. lt was the best catch of the year at the Stadium. Grice added the first of his three points from placement. Saverance accounted for the second Rock Hill marker. With the ball on the midfield stripe in the third period, he broke through the middle for 48 yards. ln the next play he blasted over for the TD. Saverance also got the final marker on a one-yard plunge after a l3-yard ad- vance by Butch Phillips set the play up. fuel Sweatte turned in a 90-yard kickoff return for the Gators' only score.
