FLU I-lRER'S Dry Cleaning -Laundry -Pressing -C lea ning -Alterations Warren, Ind. 7 Qflaaa Epfnphsrra Two members of the class of 54 decided we would take a small trip in this great year of 1963. We decided to visit the members of the Class of 1953 that graduated from R. C. H. S. ten years ago. We climbed into our Flying Ace and traveled to good old R. C. H. S.: and, much to our surprise, whom did we see washing windows, but our former classmate-Frank Crago. We talked for awhile when his trustee wife, Cformer Lois Geigerj, told him to get busy or he wouldn't get his allowance. As we started to go, a man with a long beard stopped us: and, who do you suppose he was? He was our brain, professor Rodger Brumbaugh. He said he was taking Professor Einsteins place as soon as he taught the first grade how to make H-bombs. His wife, the former Joyce Perry, and their three atoms he said were doing fine. As we drove on we went by the Stalantic Ocean fRock Creek, Creekj We saw a small boy playing with a little boat in that large ocean. We chatted and asked whom his father was. To our astonishment it was Maridith Lahr. Mert came up just then and he showed us over his ocean liner, Queen Peggy. After looking over the small shop, we bade him goodbye and took off toward Huntington, Indiana. As we were speeding along, a trooper stopped us with a gruff voice that shattered our windshield. To our amazement it was another classmate, Tom Grove. We chatted and asked him how he ever got so big and burly. His remark was, I eat Wheaties and drink Hadacol. He let us go ong so, when we got to Huntington, we decided to visit the zoo. We stopped to see the monkeys. There, not to our sur- prise, was another member of the class. Dean Broyles, feeding the monkeys. We stood there gossiping with him when ten men in white took him back to his cage, a pure mistake. We were again walking down the street in good old Huntington, Indiana, when Carroll Hand, another classmate, stopped us to chat. He said he was doing fine. Secretly he has a hot rod shop and is making millions. We asked about his former buddy, Allen Tribolet, Carroll said handsome Allen and his wife fMarie Fishery were sweeping Hollywood. Another remark was, The broom cost a dollar too. Carroll told us he had to be going because he didn't want Shirley and the dozen little Hands waiting dinner on him. Mentioning dinner reminded us it was time to eat. We were starved so we stopped at Tony's Drive To our surprise Tony Jiosa was the owner. His remark was that the only way he could get a girl was to hire her to workin his Drive Inn. Hired as his chief waitress was another classmate, Norma Kocher. BLACKSMITH SHOP R. C. MCGUFFEY KL SON Furniture -Funeral Director-Monuments Markle Markle, Ind. Class Prophecy Continued: She had just returned from the Wacs and had decided to settle down with Ralph and raise a family. As we were eating, we noticed a Cadillac with a blonde beauty-to us, Barba Fox -getting extra attention. We said hello, but she snobbishly ignored us. We found out from Tony that she married Play Boy Bill McCain and was living in society. After eating we strolled down the street past a cocktail lounge. There to our amazement was Terry Meier, a confirmed drunkard, still drowning his sorrow in a beer over losing Shirley ten years ago. He told us to beat it so he could hic get another drink. So we left him with his sorrow. We then decided to go to Markle, Indiana. Stopping at the Michaels Locker , we asked about Sharon, the brain in the class. Her dad said that she was still at Ball State. After making several attempts to catch a man but failing to do so, she has decided to settle down with her cat. They also told us Rolland Smith was minister at their church, so we decided to drop in on them. There Rolland and his wife, Esther Pugh Smith, and their three children were singing hymns. They asked us to stay for the service, but we had to get along with our business. We drove out of Markle and stop- ped for a tomato truck. In the truck we saw Donna Kersey, former Donna Sparks, and her eight children. She said they all were very happy and fat as ever. Then as we drove on we stopped in the huge metropolis of Plum Tree to get some gas. Who do you think was the attendant? None other than our girl lover, Jerry Smith. He said he was married to former Virginia Hall and had two little Smiths. Now as the day draws to a close, and as we salute the class of 1953 of Rock Creek High, your fellow Juniors say Goodbye. He never finds life a bore, he takes things as they come whether play or chore. Girls he frequently gives a whirl and sometimes finds them out ofthis world. In shop he's really a whiz, but he's sometimes stopped by a History quiz. A cute little miss some day he'll find and settle down to end this rhyme. SHARON MICHAEL Sharon Michael our blue eyed brunette, with a win- some smile and eyes that get. She likes the boys and vice versa is true, of course she has talent in other things too. She sings well and draws pictures that amaze us all, she is planning to attend Ball State this fall. A teacher Sharon is planning to be---but with her looks---just wait and see. RODGER BRUMBAUCJH Rodger Brumbaugh our class whiz, talk about brains-- well Rodger is. Not that he isn't out for fun, if there's a crowd in jest--he 's one. He gets A's without a try, and makes other students wonder why. Editor of the Annual, one of the best, Rodger sure had no time to rest. Active player on our fine team, a star and always on the beam, Now Rodger with your brilliant mind, its hard to tell what heighth you'l1 climb. lf you want to go far in life--then use your brains and not your wife. Qwueiuui CARROLL HAND Carroll Hand our lad with the green Ford that seems to fly, Carroll, why don't you get a plane, its faster and more private ---- way up high? Carroll is a kind of quiet lad, usually good and sometimes bad. He's been taken for several years, and of course we have our fears. lVe'd like to see a happy bachelor maid, but Shirley just won't let him make the grade. We tried to warn you, but you didn't know, a little crush will grow and grow. BARBA FOX Barba Fox our pride and joy, a dream of a girl and a dream ofa boy. She's the prettiest we everhad, always smiling and seldom sad. She's editor of the Black and White , a little package but packed up right. Vice -President of our senior class indeed our Barba's a busy lass. She may be a typist, she may be a tea- cher and better yet, she may need a preacher. What- ever work she is in, one thing is sure--our Barba will win. ALLEN TRIBOLET Allen Tribolet our dashing blonde with the wavy hair, a boy with his mind on girls if it is anywhere. Allen doesn't care to study but he always makes it by, he is quite a typist and can make the eraser fly. Allen is knovm to like the pretty girls and like them well, he has quite a string of admirers under his spell. A friend- ly guy with a cheerful laugh, Circulation manager on the paper staff. He isn't sure of his future plans but we 're sure they'l1 be chosen with careful hands. ROLLAND SMITH Smith is just a common name but, Rolland in front brings it fame, Rolland is charming all girls will a- gree and he plans to go into the ministry. He likes to study and he likes to play you usually find him very gay. I'm sure when these years have passed, We will all be proud to say, He graduated in my class. TERRY MEIER Old Terry Meiers a merry old soul, Likes to spend his time on the end of a pole. A fishing for the monsters of the deep, the stories he tells, you'd think he was a creep. When it comes to workin Terry'd rather go squirrelin, But we'll remember Terry as a fellow who could really pitch, Warren has never figured out, how he put them in the ditch. MARIDITH LAHR Next in line comes Maridith Lahr. The guy who gives the gym a jar. He 's a star in basketball, base- ball, and track. Nothing but girls can hold him back. He is a good looking guy with quite a technique, sometimes he's quiet and in class may be meek. He's going to join the Navy to get a good start, and try to win his theme song which is Peg O'My Heart. JERRY SMITH Jerry Smith is a quiet little fellow, But I bet he'd fight if you called him yellow. He likes his basket- ball and is a star. Anybody will tell you he plays above par. He claims that he and the girls don't mix, but I'll bet a date with a beauty wouldn't bring any kicks, A date with Jerry brings an answer in one chord, Of course I'll go with him, he has a new Ford. TONY JIOSA There is a boy named Tony who sometimes is a phoney. Especially when he tells the boys he wasn't the one making the noise. As a baseball player he could really slug, the ballbackatthe pitcher's mug. Every- one will always remember him, as a boy full of plenty of vigor and vim. NORMA KOCHER Now for the next member of our class, We take -a girl who's quite a lass. It seems to be at a career she is sighting, But she must be careful of that guy in a Ford, Or she'll forget her intentions and go over- board. But I think she is destined for fame, Perhaps on some poem you'll find her name. I'm sure when lifes history books unfold. You'1l find Norma Kocher written in gold. THOMAS GROVE Thomas Grove, the simple head, had his model-A parked out in the shed. One night when the moon- light was beautiful and bright. Thomas looked down and said, I love you, Darling, with all my might. There was a hug anda kiss and a little Miss, of course Thomas never cared cause it was only his sis. DEAN BROYLES Dean Henry Broyles, our friendly Senior boy who's always talking to someone, and always willing to do something when he can have some fun. He's been our student manager, for two whole years, and if he keeps on keeping it-it might become a career. He studies his lessons pretty hard, but he likes to play a little too, He knows an awful lot of girls and goes with quite a few. DONNA SPARKS Donna Mae Sparks our engaged beauty, always ready to do her duty, yet isn't the least bit snooty. Class president and G.A.A. too there's been an awful lot for her to do, but she's always had a smile for you. She expertly led us in cheers for the term of four years, and is not getting led -it appears. We know her plans tor future day, May the tenth we heard her say, in her blushing knowing little way. No matter when or where she'll go, how far or strange the place we know, she'll win the world with just, Hello. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY One bright morning in 1941 eighteen eager, smiling children entered the east door of good old R. C.H.S. Of these original eighteen, eleven have gone here twelve years. They are: Terry Meier, Allen Tribolet, Carroll Hand, Thomas Grove, Mari- dith Lahr, Dean Broyles, Jerry Smith, Donna Sparks, Norma Kocher, Franklin Crago, and Rodger Brum- baugh. We lost seven and gained three in the second grade. ln the third, we lost none and gained none and this left us fourteen students. The fourth grade we still had fourteen of the best students Rock Creek had ever seen. The next year we gained one more. The sixth grade we lost one and gained one to keep our total at fifteen. We still were at a grand total of fifteen in our seventh grade. The eighth saw our class gain one to increase our ranks to sixteen. Our freshman year we gained another for a total of seven- teen. Our Sophomore year we lost two and our total now reads fifteen. We had fifteen our Junior year and now in 1953 there are fifteen Seniors at R.C.H.S. We are a little over balanced with eleven boys and four girls. I . J, 44' '4:,4 4 4.p 44, 44444 ,4,, ,'4,!,N',.! 4 , 4 4 A ' 4 , 44444 , . 4 4 4. 4 4 4 4 , .
