GIRL ' S TENNIS Row 1 LR- Carrie Reese, Jennifer Hawks. Amy Snook, Cindy Presson, Alyse Hakami. Connie INeedy, Kyri Rape. Michelle Mayo. Row 2- Leah Lear. Ruth Klachko, Liz Sulzberger, Kae Wallace. Courtney Herbst. Julie Lim, Mary Jane Landhuis. Not pictured Anne Frasier. Behind the strength of three seniors and a great supporting cast the Bruin girls tennis team shined once again. Led by seniors Liz Sulzberger, Anny Snook and Ruth Klachko at numbers one, two and three respectively, the Bruins compiled a 10-2 record. The team took second place at the Conference tournament. For the fourth consecutive year the Bruins brought the district trophy home and qualified three participants for the State Champion- ships. The Bruins went into the tournament three-time defending champions but the fourth was not to be. Liz Sulzberger took second in singles, falling 7-6, 6-4 in the final. Amy Snook and Ruth Klachko placed second in the doubles competition. The Bruins missed the State Championship by one-half of a point. Liz Sulzberger finished her high-school career with an incredible 47-2 record which included two State doubles titles and runner-up in singles and doubles once each. Amy Snook finished her outstanding career with a 35-1 record and a State doubles title to go along with being runner up in doubles twice. RMJ

Stacy Roberts, Alice Fussner. Jennifer Neese, Coach Lisa Holt. Row three: Candy Hobbs, Lisa Delozier, Mendy Sapp, Stephanie Crockett, Tracy Toler, Lisa Whelan. Row Four: Heather Campbell, manager. Amy Laqua, Ann Susce, Kim Fussner, Julie Harvey. Seniors Kara Kramer, Alice Fussner, and Becki Borg helped lead the girls ' vol- leyball team to a successful season of thirteen wins, six losses. The team placed second at the Marshal Tournament, but then f inished first at the District Tourna- ment. They reached sectional playoffs in Springfield, but were defeated by Lee ' s Summit.
