SWIMMING First row: Kirsten Cooper. Krista Hobbs. Ricarda Canjam. Leanne Teerlinck, Ann Schlemper. Judy Boyer. Karin Kohle. Courtney Jackson. Second row: Coach John Hamilton. Julie Regan. Mary Jane Landhuls. Becky Cedar. Heather Hanly. Sheri Willis. Margaret Bentlage. Susan Settergen. Brenda Pollreisz. This was a memorable season for the Rock Bridge girl ' s Swimming Team. They started off the season with a big splash beating McCluer North in an unexpected, but thrilling victory. With much improvement the team ' s final record was 5-8. an enormous improvement from pre vious years. Because the girls had to share the pool with Hickman, every other day the team members would rise at 5:15 for practice, but everyone agrees that it was worth the hard work. The swim team had a new coach this year. John Hamilton. With a lot of help from his wife. Linda, and assistant coaches Amy Baier and John (Jhlig. he was able to not only improve the swimming, but also raise the confidence of the girls. Several of the team members came close to qualify for the State Swimming Championships. Freshman. Becky Ceder qualified for State in the I meter diving. Judy Boyer diving off the starting block.

. BOY ' S GOLF The Rock Bridge Varsity Boy ' s Golf Team finished their season with a record of 10-3-1. The Junior Varsity had a 10-4 season. One of the Varsity wins was against Hickman in the second match of the year. Sophomore, Steve Snyder, qualified for state as an individual with a score of 75 at Districts in Moberly. Russ Gaines lead Rock Bridge with the low-score match average of 40.42. The golf team is a young team with only one senior, Jeff Shilt. Jeff was injured with three weeks left in the season which unfortunately took him out of the District competition.
