We run through fields of grass, Hand in hand. Suddenly, a quiet falls Our laughter - gone. A tear - upon my cheek, And you whisper to me to be brave. We await the first light of tomorrow With doubts, Yet still with courage, For you and I, together, are The Spirit of Youth. Oeolcatlon An energetic young woman came to Rochester High six years ago. Mrs. Freddie Neal has given her time and energy to our school and has led several school organizations through the years. She has instructed students in Spanish, girls' physical ed- ucation, and history. Outside of her school activi- ties, she is also a wife and mother. To Mrs. Neal, we, of the 1963-64 Rochesterian staff, dedicate this annual. x..- fk 'fL1,,f.7,L,d'L,g-K7 I :LLKLL7 V49 -Q X . zz, 4 L -:nikki '5 1' ,,f? 1131.14 uf fa, fx.f'g.'fZL,Q.' I ,7 ommlstnatlon Have you tripped or stubbed your toe? If so, your sense of recovery prevented you from falling. This might well apply to your high school years. If you have stumbled or have been in error in your school work or activi- ties, how successful was your recovery? Did you give up or did you overcome obstacles and finish in a courageous manner? Perseverance, determination, and enthusi- asm are qualities that are necessary through- out your life. They, along with academic knowledge, honesty, benevolence, and a few other personal characteristics will unlock your future. Why not take a personal inventory to see if you will retain your balance should youtrip along the way. wwf The importance of the individual could hardly have been more dramatically demonstrated than in the confusion that followed the death of our president. Each student of this school is very important. He is important to himself, family, friends, school and country. Thirty years from now you and students like you will be the leaders of our country. Be proud to be an individual, stand up for what you believe and make your voice count. Thus, you will make a great contribution now to your school and in later years to your coun- try. if MJ, Mr. W. Night after night, in rain, hail, and mud, the young Rochester ,,,, inexperienced Warriors went fullsteam St, Martins ,,,, through practice. Rochester .... As the season went on and the losses Tumwater, began to pile up, our determination grew and grew. Finally, with a great Rochester, team effort we dumped Yelm for our Eatohville, only win of the season. Rochester. Probably the greatest tribute one Mohtesaho, could pay our team would be to recog- nize the great effort put out by each Rochester, boy in our losing cause. We all know White Pass how easy it is to support or play on a winning team, but we had to learn to Rochester, accept defeat without tears and to Yelm, , come out to practice Monday, ready to start all over again. Rochester, Winlock. . . In summing up our season, we might say it was a losing effort in which Rochester, each boy grew in stature and won a personal victory. Elma ...... Rochester.
