The department featured courses in composition and literature. It recognized and tried to fill the demand of today's world for a person who has a working knowledge of his own tongue, English, and fundamentals in a foreign language. Mr, Smith, Miss Christopher, and Mr. Rockey handled English courses. Mr. Rockey headed the journalism department, Mrs. Wilson taught Spanish. Journalism students work at mimeoscopes
