DEWANE E. LAMKA A. B., B, Ed., M. Ed. College of Puget Sound Mr. Lamka is completing his third year as our Superintend- ent. Previously he served as a Coach, an Elementary School Principal, a High School Principal, and a Junior High Principal. While attending college Mr. Lamka was active in dramatics, debate, and school politics. This explains in part his interest in the varied activities of the High School. Mr. Lamka has this word for the student group: To the Seniors, let me extend my congratulations to you on a job well done. This is only the first step in a long and developing life ahead. The best of good wishes go with you. To the under- graduates, good luck as you progress to the goal of graduation. Most 'luck' is created by you through hard work and determin- ation. A LOIS STRAND Office Girl LOREN D. LANPHERE -Mr. Lanphere, our principal, came to us from North Kitsap High School where he taught mathematics and was assistant coach in the junior high school. Mr. Lanphere received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington. Since then he has continued his studies at the University, taking work toward a master's degree. Of this, his first year at Rochester, Mr. Lanphere said, The excellent cooperation of the students has made it possible to operate school successfully this year under very difficult con- ditions. The same fine spirit will see us through the period next year while we await the completion of our new building.
