X r SENIIIB CLASS llIST0llY In the fall of 1938, a large group of slightly green freshmen entered the doors of R. H. S. and soon became loyal students. They first gained recognition by being well represented on the honor roll. They became organized as a class in the fall of 1940, choosing Miss Barrett as sponsor. The leaders of the class were Jean Emmons, presidentg Selena Peterson, vice-president: Jean Gohn, secretaryg Clyde Bick, treas- urer. The following spring the class presented Hobgoblin House. On May 23 they entertained the seniors at the prom held at the Colonial Hotel. When they were seniors, new officers were chosen-J im Shelton, presi- dentg Jean Emmons, vice-president, Betty Jennens, secretaryg Clyde Bick, treasurer. Their play, Laughing Gas, was given October 21. Several of the students participated in commercial contests. Their high school career was completed by three important events: a prom given by the jun- iors, baccalaureate, May 24, and commencement, May 27. Many scholarships were earned during the senior year.
