GIRLS' ATHLETIC LEAGUE A girls' sports program has been fostered by the li. A. L., a club that has completed its first year in R. H. 5. The object of the G. A. The officers arei Lucyanna Peterson, president: l'atty Krieghbaum. vice-president: ,lean TEIUHIUIIS, secretary, and lletty ,lennens. treasurer. The September call for tennis was answered by twenty volunteers of which eight received their first ti. A. l.. points. Scheduled meets with l'lyniouth lligh resulted in ac- quiring several new friends and an R. ll. S. victory there but defeat on the local courts. Thirty-tive complimentary tickets for the Notre Dame-Southern Methodist football game made thirty-tive ti. A. l..'s happy. A cold day and a flat tire failed to dampen the spirits of those lucky ones who saw the game. Saturday, November S, our club entertained all the community high schools at the Fulton County Circus l'lay Day. Seventy-eight girls and seven teachers paraded, per- formed, danced, stunted, and feasted in the XYhitmer gym. Yolley ball was on the calendar for November. As winter came, December inaugurated King Basketball. Fridays after school saw the local enthusiasts headed for the gym. Cold ,lanuary made a skating party possible. The grade school pupils were also included in that ice party of january 10. February 23 marked the G. A. l.. dance. The style of the evening was leaping to instrumental recordings. Bowling found many cohorts, enough for several teams, two of which rolled against Plymouth. NVhen spring came, baseball was on deck. tiolf and deck tennis were popular with some girls. However. the most coveted acquisition of the year was the newly furnished shower room for girls in the Whitnier gym. Mary Reddick, tennis captain. A Bowling 'l' e am: Capt.
