HI-Y CLUB Tllv Hi-Y Clllll, with Mr. Purdue as the sponsor, was directed this year hy the following otiicers: Robert Mathias, president: .lohn Taylor, x'ice-presi- dent: Don Stout, secretary: and james Yike, treasurer. ln the fall the memlxers had a sizzling time at a wiener roast which was held at the Tippecanoe River. This was followed hy the traditional fall treasure hunt. Later in the year the eluh sponsored two dances, one at Hallowe'en and the other in january. ln the spring' came the annual spring picnic and an- other treasure hunt. Of course, the time-honored hi-weekly hean suppers were held through- out the year. The meetings were unusually good. Some of the speakers who appeared on progxams were: Rey. Klcliee, Klr. l,isle Krieghhaum, Rev. Ross- Shannon, Dr. Herkehile, Mr. Clyde l.yle, Nlr. K. Y. jones. Mr. l'aul XYatson, and Rey. Rafnel. The oliicers elected for next year attended the State Officers' Conference at Indianapolis, They are: blames Shelton, president: Don Stout, vice-presi- dent: Holm Cessna, secretary: and lidward Kliller, treasurer. GIRL RESERVES The Girl Reserves under the sponsorship of Miss Bushong and Miss .Xdams have enjoyed a busy, active year. The program committee headed by Yir- ginia Ilelp arranged a Mothers and Daughters Tea. a Fathers and Ilaughters Banquet, and the annual breakfast for the senior members. Un every second Monday evening' the girls had a community supper. To make money the elub had bake sales and sponsored two highly sue- eessiul dances. .Xt Thanksgiving and Christmas the welfare committee under I.ueyanna I'ele: son distributed fund baskets, This practice has been followed by the tlirl Reserves for many years. There were forty-two members until the annual kid party when twenty new girls were selected. They were formally initiated in February. The ullieers who have dune much to help make this an interesting, enjuyable year for all the members are: Ruth Clifford, president: Kathleen Yann, viee- presitlent: 'Ieanne Miller, secretary: Mable Blellrath, treasurer.
