S p01ls0r JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1937, 106 freshmen timidly entered the portals of Rochester High School. Only seventy-eight of this group are still carrying on the honor and tradition inherited, year by year, by the junior class. The class organized in October of their third year and chose Miss XYilda Hoopengardner as sponsor and the following juniors for class otiicers: Don Stout, president, Fred Zellers, vice-president, Margaret Gregory, treasurer: and Bob Bigler, secretary. XN'ith the three act play, You're the Doctor, the juniors made their debut into school activities. On May 22 they entertained the senior class at the annual junior-Senior Reception. On the basketball team. Stout, Zellers, Bigler, Bemenderfer, Cessna, llogue, Richards, and Slaybaugh represent the juniors. On the track team we find Sherrard, Palmer, Stout, Bigler, Bemenderfer, Richards, Brown, and Enyart. Stout, Young, Enyart, and Bowers hold honors in baseball 1 and Rich- ards, Palmer and Smiley are the juniors on the golf team. Among the school contests, Don Stout and Pat Krieghbaum represented the juniors in second year Lating joanne Miller and Kathleen Fore took part in a freshman algebra contest: Dale Smiley, Kathleen Fore, and l'at Kriegh- baum were on the commercial team at the contest in Muncie. The juniors age active in all school activities. In the Ili-Y Don Stout is vice-presidentg Bob Cessna, secretary, and Eddie Miller, treasurer. Pat Krieghbaum is vice-piesident of the Girls' Athletic League and assistant editor of Station R. H. S. Lawrence Brown takes honors as one of the yell leaders. Although taking important parts in activities, they also find time to don their horn-rimmed spectacles and keep the honor roll well supplied with juniors. Three cheers for their versatility! We admire them for their line school spirit.
