Q Nearby Detroit odds dimension to campus life Within thirty minutes of the campus, students were able to find themselves at some of the finest cultural, recreational, and business centers in Michigan. Even a short walk down Avon Road to K-Mart or the railroad track shortcut to town provided eating and shopping opportunities. Two or three cars of people at a time found enjoyment in spending an afternoon at the Detroit Zoo, Bloomer State Park, Greenfield Village, or the Oakland Mall. An evening for a special person at times included a visit to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor, viewing the Detroit skyline from the Canadian shoreline, and a drive through the famous mansion district of Bloomfield Hills.
