X. we-I I 1 . v fi ,V SEXTETTES The Girl's Sextettes consist of twelve girls selected from the alto and soprano sections of the Chorus. The members include: Sopranos: Sylvia Eisenmann, Betty Ann Cross, and Carolyn Bright. Altos: Martha Phelps, Linda Kincade, and Dwinna Howard. QUARTET The Men's Quartet is composed of four members from within the A Cappella Chorus. Its repertoire consists af both religious and secular music. The members of the quartet are: David Coleman, I Tenor: Harold Brazier, II Tenor: Harlan Huckaba, Baritone: and Rodney Grantham, Bass. OCTET Left to right: Harlan Huckaba, David Coleman, Dona Mai Bruce, Sylvia Eisenmann, Linda Kincacle, Rodney Grantham, and Leonard Blake. This octet was select- ed from the A Cappella Chorus to represent the chorus whenever it is not possible for the entire chorus to appear. The octet is also used as a special feature on various chorus programs. Sopranos: Nancy Templeton, Susan Sturdivant, and Kathy Postlewait. 'l'he Chorus with 25 mcmhers and has grown within a few short months to 31 members rel ing eight states and one foreign country. Frequent appearances of the Chorus are always received with enthusiastic appree The Chorus made its first puhlic appearance at the 1959 NCCC Lectureship, During the 1960 school 'ear the Chorus has made numerous a J iearances in Michifan, Ohio, and li 4 . . .. , - S v . . 'I he remainder of the school year will lmd the Chorus making appearances in Michigan, l and lfllisconsin. One of the highlights of Choral activity centers around a l5-minute radio gram hroadcast over one of the local stations in the Detroit area. 'lhe Chorus is making for the Jerformance of relifious son s in several different foreifn lan ua res. E, S B S is lt is true that the Clrorus and other vocal groups prohahly require more year-round from students than most other campus actixitics. It is also true that few, if any, activities are more richly rewarding in terms oi' fellowship and healthful recreation, the 1: gratification that comes from the peformance of hoth spiritual and secular music heh preciative audiences, and the frequent opportunities to serve North Central Christian and the Churches of Christ. sm
