Being able to care for others brought joy to herself. Words themselves can never explain the emptiness we feel because of the missing smile. But death is not in vain for it teaches us of lifeg of how to reach out into the world and express our love by touching each other the way Liz touched us. Kent Michael Hansen His words, His smile, His dreams. We think of Kent and we cry for ourselves because we never took the time to tell him how much we cared for him And because we must face a world which has grown a little darker and a little colder, He gently smiles and watches our lives continue. Such injuries, ranging from bruised ribs, pulled liga- ments, even a broken foot, kept various players off the court, and under doctor's attention for the season. Instead this season turned into a rebuilding year with three Sophomores seeing plenty of action. A bright spot for the season came when Senior Dawn Scha- backer was named to the NCIC All-Conference First team. Lead scorer for the Lady Hubs was Dawn Schabacker with an average of 13.9 points per game. Dawn also lead from the charity stripe sinking 58 of 103 freethrows for 5621. Pam VanHise lead in rebouding with 207, an 10.89 aver- age per game. The Sophomore girls finished their season 6-8, .5-5 in NCIC play. Theresa King was voted MVP for the Hublets as she averaged 12.5 points per game, adding an aver- age of 6 rebounds per game. Becky Higgs was lead scorer for the Hublets averaging 13.3 points per game. Many areas are included in the production of each yearbook. Some of these productions are taking pictures, cropping these pictures to fit the many layouts, and writing and typing copies for the various organizations and division pages. There are seven major sections to the Tatler: Sports, Music, Organizations, Faculty, Classes, and Artwork. Each section takes much hard work and devotion. Mr. Brinker serves as the Advisor and general consultant for the yearbook. Steve Dilling and Paul Estrem check to find the deadline of the football layout. Terri Stein questions Mr. Brinker on a layout. Beth Bradshaw and Cathy Ciaccio flip through pages of old yearbooks. Valerie Brickl explains to Michelle Cote how to use the camera. 54 On the photo above is Sue Stein and Beth Pleune typing copies for the yearbook. Centered is Cindy Newquist, Renee John- son, and Lori Kerestes working on crop- ping pictures. Below is Sandy Schaab and Lynnette Pyne checking out layouts. 'sn 15. One of the events was Secret Admirers Day, where club members sold roses which students secretly sent to that special someone. 59 A.F.S. The American Field Service was very active this year. The class of '81 have a little time behind them now and have begun to relax. They have spent some of their time amusing themselves with many practical jokes, at the expense of the freshmen. The sophomores spent much of their time rehearsing for speech class. They tried to find time to gather bugs for biology over the summer, but most ended up searching for them after the first frost. In their spare time the sophomores found different ways to spend their money. They spent a week looking at class rings, trying to decide which one to buy. After getting their drivers licenses they began to look for the special car. Sophomores U0 U2 l l i lA QR U' , at ir t ' X ' f .gl 1 .2 E W t 1 if .f-V. 'K nfl? The new upperclassmen really had a rough time at the beginning of the year, rushing to please hungry fans waiting in line at the concession stand during football games. They also sold mums at homecoming in order to raise money for prom. Most of their school time was spent in history classes and algebra II. Explosions were not uncommon in the chemistry lab, and the juniors were often seen coming from chemistry class relieved that they had survived another day. By the end of the first semester most science teachers were wary of them. After school, sports and other activities were time consuming and sometimes kept juniors from doing their homework. it or 11 . ywmwwywv., 1, or y 'flffgfy A mm ar.f1i,,.m 35 . il X - 3 if B 4 , sl ' . an 1 we X, M Gage n t Mfr 3 ai, 5' Q lf, I 47 V 'f'f'i '!f s I H af fi it ?ff.fi7f.f l V' i xg ' if f I ,..L L ,1 LV T ' X W I ' .,.
