it Superintendent Leroy R. Peterson in his new office. He received his academic training at Augustana College and at the University of Illinois, and he has both his B.A. and M.A. degrees, W H-Q. Assistant Principal Superin tendent-Principal Through the constant planning and assistance of Mr. Leroy R. Peterson the new addition to Rochelle Town- ship High School is completed. Wheri there is need. Mr. Peterson also takes time from his duties of superintend- ent to do substitute teaching. '6lVlr. Peterson is one of the outstanding educators in the state today. He has done an excellent job here in Rochelle, said Phil Nye, toastmaster at the sixteenth annual Football Banquet, December 4, l956. Mr. Harold F. Maris, assistant principal, received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Eastern lllinois State College and his Masters degree at Colorado State College of Education. He has attended Northern lllinois State College. Mr. Maris teaches civics and sociology and is the student council advisor. Zawwlafi ' The Board of Education has the joli of repre- senting the general pulilic in our high school. Their elections are rotated so that only two mem- bers are up for election each year. Their meet- ings are held every third lVlonday evening of each month. John T. Carroll and E. J. Orner respec- tively were elected as this yearis president and secretary. The Board has charge of setting the budget for the financing of the school, seeing that proper facilities are provided, and approving teachers' and other employees' contracts. Mr. Peterson and members of the Board of Education are discussing quality and use of equip- ment for the school.
