Marching in the afternoon and early evening made it possible to put ona band show every Fri- day night. The weeks of practicing on the field and in the band hall were climaxed by the annual marching contest held in Robstown in December. Try-outs at Sinton for district band saw Robstown place fifteen students in the band. These students tried out for the Regional band at Kingsville, where eight of them placed. One of these STP, 'If eight was selected to go to the all state band at Mineral Wells. Besides the marching contest, the band participated in a concert playing and sight reading contest. Both of these were preceded by short concerts held in Robstown. In the spring the band, the choir, and the music departments of the grade schools presented the Music Festival, which is held every year at the stadium. Buccaneer Days-the parade, with many bands and floats participating, and the beauty contest- were high lights for spring.
