COMMANDER COLLINS is a native of Kansas City Mo After graduating from Marquette University in 1952 he continued on at Marquette for another year completing his Master's Degree in English Commissioned an Ensign in 1953 his first duty was aboard the USS CORAL SEA QCVA 433 as R Division Officer In 1953 CDR COLLINS was ordered ashore as Engineering Instructor in the NROTC Program a the University of Idaho Six straight tours of sea duty followed starting in 1957 aboard the USS NECHES fAO47J USS TANNER fAGS15J USS PERRY QDD8440 USS NORRIS QDDE859D' USS HOOPER KDE 10261 and as Executive Officer of USS ROBISON QDDG 125 S . 4. 7 3 o 9 4 O . u . 1 t 0 9 9 3 5 S 3 . . in is 0 it 5 fs... Y X .Jr-13x After leaving ROBISON, CDR COLLINS reported to the Bureau of Personnel as Enlisted Rating Control Officer, and completed this duty in 1966. He attended the Armed Forces Staff College, then spent a year in Viet-Nam as Surface Operations Officer, NAVFORV Staff, and reported on board USS ROBISON as Commanding Officer in April 1968.
