Putting th is ecperience and learning together C'ommander C'o.z' was able to be in on the early stages of missile clezfelopment. He sercecl as Gznznery Officer on board USS RIC'H,4XRIJ If. KR,ll,'S1f, as Nlissile Test U.U5cer in USS BIISSISSIPPI, and as Sznfzce to .Ur Gzzicled .Uissile Project Ojjlicer on the staff of the Clzief of Na-cal Operations. Commander C'o.c was E.z'ec1ztiz'e Ojicer of USS DECHXTUR CDD-9365 placing her in commission at the Boston Narcal Shipyard, in December 1956. He then went to the Bureau of Nlllflll YVeapons as TERRIER ana' T.r1RTAR Research and Defzwlopnzent Project Ofcer and Program llanager.
