Cindy Taylor Parents enjoy Back-To-School night displays. Where’s Mr. Nelson? Mrs. Benson? Returning art students soon learned that all art teachers were at Fairfax High with the Robinson seventh graders at one time or another this year. Every possible effort was made to allow advanced students to choose their courses, a monumental effort in scheduling. Welded metal sculpture was introduced into the curriculum and new media and approaches enriched standard course offerings. Visitors to the center saw displays of excellent wheel-thrown pottery, silversmithing, and drawings, paintings and graphics of unusual approach and technique. The current national interest in crafts was reflected in macrame, weavings, batiks, and enameling done in the popular crafts classes. Students bid farewell to Mrs. Ann Benson, who moved at mid-year, and welcomed Miss Joni Dim to the department. Becky Cullen
