SPONSORS SADIE HAWKINS, CHRISTMAS DANCES On November 11, even Lil’ Abner, alias Stanley Bryant, Daisy Mae, alias Debbie Biesemeyer, and the rest of the gang (Dickweed McPrude — Joel Funk and Moonbeam McSwine — Debbie Carling) felt right at home as many Robinson gals came to the Sadie Hawkins dance, their favorite fellas in low. Provided with really rocking rhythms by Medulla, the gals reversed the roles and asked the boys to dance. The couples fell right in line with the spirit of things and headed for the hitching post, manned by a very capable Marryin’ Sam, Mr. Kramer. CHRISTMAS DANCE In addition to the excitement of the holiday vacation, the season’s fervor was capped off with the annual Christmas Dance. Much of the eagerness that was felt by everyone as they awaited the arrival of Old St. Nick was temporarily set aside as the anticipation for this fun-filled evening increased. Dressed in velvets, satins, and silks, the starry-eyed couples arrived, the excitement of Christmas and hints of romance in the air. 32
