J.V. HOCKEY The Junior Varsity Hockey Team had a very successful season and took second place in the Northern District. With a record of four wins, three ties, and one loss they could be justifiably proud. Joanna Taylor led the team as season captain, with a se¬ cond captain elected for each game. At the end of the season the following players were selected as: Best Offensive Player—Madeline Galvin Best Defensive Player—Kathy Selz Most Improved Player—Joanne Murphy Most Consistent Player—Debbie Blaser Back Row: Coach Betty Motes, Madeline Galvin, Barbara VanMatre, Sharon Chandlar, Jean McGrath, Diane Carlton. Starting team practices on the second day of school seemed to pay off for the tennis team, the girls winning six out of nine matches, and four girls going to regionals; doubles — Pam Garrick and Vicki Barrett, singles —-Audrey Perkins and Diane Lee. Diane went on to semi-finals. Kim Thompson and Linda Braren were named the most improved players. 152
