Physical Education Physical education is a class whose purpose is to build the body as well as to teach sportsmanship, teamwork, coordination, and the ability to get along with others. Gym and sports also help students by giving them an interesting hobby or by making them avid sports fans. Sports are important to all of us as we go through life. MR. JAMES EDWARDS Coach MR. Science MR. KENNETH CARROLL - - Mr. Carroll Extlngulshes MRS. . LEATHA OMAN Science Class Mr. Carroll found it necessary one day to extin- guish the class when the conversation got a little hot over gases. He casually walked over and picked up MR, PAUL the fire extinguisher and PHOOOSH Went the co2 gas SAMARAS in many of the students faces. After the shock, many regarded it as a fun, but cold experience. MR. In Mrs. O'Brian's room 162. 47 gms. of bulky CLARENCE guinea pig was reluctantly stuffed into a beaker, and SMITH weighed on a triple-beam balance. The purpose was not to hurt the guinea pig, but to make a comparison of his weight to his diet. Mr. Samaras, our new science teacher, is mak- ing a first in Robinson history. His ninth grade class is taking up the practice of geology, or, the study of rocks, in simpleton's language. Mr. Smith took up an old but interesting prac- tice, dissection of frogs. Many a student found this an astounding assignment and many went home inter- ested, but not hungry.
