One of Robinson's most outstanding seasons was achieved by his efforts and the team members, members of which were: seniors, Mike Steele, Robin McCarter, Terry Wampler, Steve Knight, Jon Hoalt, and Frank Walton, and iuniors, Mac McCracken, and Joe Brotherton. Robinson participated in the Danville Holiday Tournament, the Regional Tournament at Olney, and won the Apollo Conference championship. Mike Steele received the honor of being named as a member of the honorary All-State team, and Robin McCarter received honorable mention. Steele was also named Best Defensive player for 1971-72. McCarter was named Most Valuable Player. At the basketball banquet, held in March, two members were announced for holding the team's records for the season. Steele was awarded the rebounding award and Mac McCracken was given the Free-Throw award.
