SPANISH CLUB SPANISH CLUB This year the Spanish Club, again took part in the Fall Car- nival. They had their annual pizza walk which attracted much of the public and served as a successful means of building up the club ' s treasury. Highlighting the year, the club had a combin- ation dinner and initiation for the new members. Plans for Spring consisted of the trip to the Spanish Pavillion in St. Louis. The Spanish Club provides the students studying Spanish to gain a further appreciation of the language and the people who speak it. 82

The F.F.A. members worked industriously during the year, sponsoring a dart throw and a crazy ball at the Carni- val. Along with their advisor, Mr. Smith, the club journeyed to Buffalo, Illinois to see an annual farm progress show. This was the club ' s first year to have a girl to join the club. VENUS CROWNED AT BANQUET Slave C. Schaefer finds the job of washing her master ' s hand not altogether easy. Roman Senator M. Poppe appears amused by the antics of the slaves. LATIN CLUB Latin Club again this year, had a slave auction at the Carnival. The members played such games as bingo and charades, in Latin, at their regular meetings. Carols were sung in Latin during the Christmas season. Movies of educational value were shown dur- ing the meetings.
