Energetic Jr. High Cheer- leaders for the ' 69- ' 70 school year were sponsored by Mrs. Shirley Muston. The girls, under her leadership, prac- ticed laborously after school to perfect their many nu- merous cheering routines. Aside from supporting their team and leading cheers at the games, the Jr. High Cheer- leaders also led pep sessions and signed names for the pep buses. 140

1 1— A ' 1 BOYS MANEUVER FOR VARSITY POSITIONS Junior High Basketball, although the record doesn ' t show it, completed a very successful season. On the eighth grade level, the players had a win-loss record of 5-10. They participated in a tournament, and ran into some hard luck early, getting beat by Old Union, who later went on to the state finals. The seventh graders, meanwhile, finished with a more respectable record of 8-8. In a seventh grade tournament played here in Robinson, they vanquished all foes in fin- ishing first. Mr. Muston, head of Junior High Basket- ball, realizes the potential and expects even a better performance next year. 142
