SPLASHDOWN . . . Many of the members of the graduating class of 1970 feel that our graduation is the splashdown. It is true. We have completed a long, significant voyage. But this voyage is only the first stage of a much larger project. We have completed one voyage only to begin a much more difficult one, consisting of two stages. These are learning and living. Whether we further our education formally makes little difference. We will continue to learn. This brings us to the third stage of living — applying what we know to what we do. Yes, we are leaving on a new voyage into space. We do not know where we are going, or what we will find when we arrive, but we do know that graduation is just like the . . . BLAST OFF! 1 113

JUNIORS OF R.H.S. Leading the Class of ' 71 in their third year of high school life were the following: Jim King, vice-presi- dent; Beth Baker, secretary; Ric Battershell, president; Karen Dedrick, treasurer. As usual, the members of the Jun- ior Class were kept busy throughout the year with an assortment of activ- ities. Highlighting these activities was the prom, set as a reproduction of the lost city, Atlantis. Candy sales and the Junior Cake Walk at the Car- nival helped finance the event, along with the Junior Class Play THE CRU- CIBLE by Arthur Miller. Selection of a class ring was also high on the list of important events of the year. Perhaps the most exciting happening for one young lady in particular, was the selection of devilish Miss Bridget Roads as Harvest Festival Queen At- ' tendant.
