SPANISH CLUB The Spanish Club is one of the smaller clubs of the school. This year there are 26 mem- bers under the direction of Miss Macalene Riegel. The qualifications for the members is to have had or to be enrolled in a Spanish class. The purpose of the club is to learn more of the custom s, games, and songs of the Spanish speaking countries. Love, LATIN CLUB This year there are approximately 80 members in the Latin Club under the direction of Miss Wilma Nuttall. The qualifications for entering Latin Club, one of the oldest clubs in the school, is to have had at least one semester of Latin. The purpose of the club is to familiarize members with phases of Roman life which can- not be considered in class because of lack ot time, and to create an interest in Latin. The club reflects in its organization the poliitical set-up of ancient Rome. Everyone is a Roman citizen—Latin | students are ‘‘slaves’’ until after initiation. The officers have Roman titles. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Gerald Wilson, the club has climbed in import- ance until it is one the leading clubs in the school. Tri-Hi-Y is a club for any young Christian girl who believes in the club’s purpose ‘‘To create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community high standards of Christian character.” The club is affiliated with the Y.
