JUNIORS Junior Class Officers Seated: Gladys Pease, Secretary; Joyce Brantley, Treasurer Standing: Jim Mieure, Vice President; Richard Ruddell, President Page 34 The Junior Class, under the leadership of Ricky Ruddell, completed many worth while ac- tivities during the school year of 1957-1958. The Junior-Senior Prom which was the high- light of the year’s activities, proved to be very successful. The junior class members sold sta- tionery and sponsored other means of raising money that was used for prom decorations and entertainment. Barbara Highsmith was selected junior queen candidate for the 1958 carnival. The junior class also sponsored a play which was enjoyed by the faculty and students of RHS.

Lynda Daron was honored by her class- mates and the faculty when she was selected to receive the DAR award. This is an award pre- sented by the Daughters of the American Revo: lution and is primarily a good citizenship award, although many other factors help de- termine the recipient of the award. Lynda has actively participated in many school activities during her four year stay at RHS. She served as secretary of her class her junior year and also helped on many committes. Lynda was also an active member of Latin Club, Drama Club, Band, and Tri-Hi-Y. Lynda has been an active member of the newspaper staff also. For the past two years she has held the posi- tion of feature editor. Her work on the news- paper staff earned for her membership in the honorary newspaper club, Quill and Scroll. Too, Lynda has been active in Student Council work. By this outstanding record, it is easy to tell why Lynda received this DAR award. David Wilkin was presented the SAR award by the Daughters of the American Revo- lution with the permission of the Sons of the American Revolution. During his high school career, Dave has been active in football cand basketball, receiving his letter in football dur- ing his junior year. He has been an active mem- ber in the Student Council, Latin Club, and Lettermen’s Club. Dave also was a member of Science Club. During his last and senior year in high school, Dave served as president of the senior class. Through his hard work and driving ambition, Dave has well earned this SAR award.
