Although we are basically a social sorority, we are also quite active in many service projects. Among our service projects are: Toys for Tots, The Heart Fund, Shamrocks for Dystrophy, and collecting canned goods for needy families. Dedlg ALPHA IOTA Alpha Iota is an International Honorary Business Sorority. The Kappa Omicron Chapter of Alpha Iota is located at the Pittsburgh Center of Robert Morris College. The sorority itself was founded fifty years ago in Des Moines, Iowa by Elsie M. Fenton, and the Kappa Omicron Chapter was the first sorority at the RMC Pittsburgh Center. The basic function of Alpha Iota now and in the past has been to serve the community. This community service involves such things as: The Annual Walk for March of Dimes, Pgh. Folk Festival, collections for Epilepsy and Unicef, Christmas shopping with the orphans, and services to the school. Socially the sisters have dinners, picnics, and fund raisers outside of school. The officers for 1975-1976 are Karen Szetc, President, Geralyn Dedlg, Vice-President, Dee Hayes, Secretary, Jean Uhrick, Treasurer, and Mary Ann Hickey, Pledge Master. 122
