Robert Morris was the financier of the Ameri- can Revolution and a signer of the Declara- tion of Independence. He was often honored as the most prominent merchant in America. He served the country as Superintendent of Finance from 1781-1784. He labored hard and served well, he guided the organization of a national bank, retrenched expenditures, took steps towards establishing a national mint and extensively used his personal credit to raise funds for our young Republic, fledgl- ing of the nations. ln this, the 200th year of the United States and the 55th year of Robert Morris College, the Patriot staff feels it appropriate to honor America's first financial hero, Robert Morris. .'oX9 i .1 H. --gis1:r.++ 1 5: .i ole .f ifaoaewaswfa i -Q12-Ei 4 Ji. Help us to cooperate with one another because we can only win if we work together. Help us to challenge our opponents to give their best, too. Help us to stick to the rules because a victory without sportsmanship is hollow. Help us to accept the decisions of the officials - whether or not we agree with them. And finally Lord, help us to meet victory or defeat with the knowledge that what we put into the game is far more important than the final score. They are our neighbors, age 5 to 75, steel workers, physicists, housewives, engi- neers, accountants and school teachers. Each nationality group erects two booths: one for the display of Folk Art, crafts, woodcarving, em- broidery, etc. The other booth is for the prepa- ration and sale at cost, of nationality foods. Newcomers, who may be slightly bashful, soon find themselves drawn into the circles and are dancing, too. 80 I 4 fu, i 0 115,57 , . 'V 'W 4 f X W' -1 4 'fray' : 'rum II'L'5r '- H., '-.-N.. Brotherhood to society has been and still remains one of the major objectives of the fraternity. On May 16, 1970 the fraternity was accepted into the national social fraternity. Since that time, Alpha Psi has not lain idle: it has participated in many college activities. In order to help the college we have performed such projects as cleaning the nature trall of litter last spring, building a map of the campus, which stands opposite the guard house, to aid visitors, and donating money to the Watson home for crippled children. Our main objective is to promote a working relationship between the brothers, college, and community so that we may be socially acceptable and achieve high academic status. 111 ff -- fa' ..
