Gilbert. Junior Aviation Club The Junior Aviation Club, which meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays with Mr. Paris, is one of our newest clubs. The membership includes sixteen boys who are interested in learning the basic fundamentals of aircraft construction and design. While most of the work is confined to building models, the con- struction and operation of the airplane engine is studied. The Mirror Air Show at Grumman each June is the big event of the year. P-W5 Twirlers The twirling class is one of this year's additions. lt was organized so that all girls who are interested in twirling would have a time to receive further instructions and practice. Varsity Baseball Coach Class has six letter men return- ing from last year's second place team. Heading the list is Captain Dave Ehlers at shortstop. Other returning players are Lou Scola at third base, Emil Latimer and Lenny Hicks in the outfield. Walter Krauss and John Mattiucci will be back to handle the pitching chores for the '52 Blue Devils. With many vacancies to be filled there will be many prospects battling for start- ing positions. VARSlTY BASEBALL Track The track team, headed by Coach Mar- lowe, looks quite promising for this year and next. Despite the loss ot several stars ot last year there is a group of likely tel- lows up from Junior High. The team is especially strong in the distance races. the quarter mile, the hurdles and broad jump. It a few sprint stars show up, the team will be solid from top to bottom. The interests of the members vary from astronomy and physics to veterinary science, radio and mineralogy. Photography Club The Photography Club, under the super- vision of Mr. Granger, has two main pur- poses: to teach the elements of photography to the enthusiastic members and to offer the entire school a service by taking pictures of any organization or activity.
