Football After a slow start this season, the Blue Devils sur- prised everybody except their coaches, Mr. Kubisa and Mr. Paul McCarthy, by a very fine showing. Im- proving steadily with each game, the Devils took second place in the league standings and had an overall record of three wins, three losses, and one tie. The first two losses were in non-league competition against Oyster Bay C34-OD and Riverhead K7-OJ. Hunt- ington won its next two league games, overwhelming Amityville C27-65 and Port Jefferson U3-OJ. Patchogue tied the Devils C7-75 in the last quarter of an important game. Bay Shore handed us our first defeat in the league in a very close game that could have gone either way C12-71. Just like last year, the Southampton game was rained out. The Blue Devils ended their season by beating Babylon easily C27-75 in a league game. 5 - Av. 41.-Q 'Ms it llllit la r COACHES Mr. Donofrio, Mr. Kubisa, Mr. Sipos Ronnie O'Malley made first string All-Suffolk tackle and Ed Gardiner, along with Ronnie Weckesser, made second string All-Suffolk fullback and center respec- tively. Although they didn't gain individual honors, the rest of the players should receive iust as much credit as the outstanding players for the team's suc- cess. Soto the squad as a whole, we say, A fine iob well done! The Jayvee team, coached by Mr. Donofrio, had a very successful season, ending with a record of four wins, one loss, and one tie. With a lot of these players making varsity next year, Huntington may once again have a championship team. J. V. FOOTBALL Top Row Cleft to righfl: F. Alessio, A. Hynes J. Hutcher, L. Pfleiderer, W.
