.fda fumm A s the days take on a mellower light . . . Golden September marks the end of summer, and the start of another school year. Old friends and new meet in halls and rooms smelling of wax and varnish. lt's too cool now to think of swimming, but still warm enough to be uncomfortable at football practice. Scarlet October comes next, with its hazy skies, painted hills, and the smell of smoke from burning leaves, forever in the air. It brings days of arowsy melancholy, then days of crisp, cool, football weather that send a shiver up your back and a lift to your spirit. November - the month of gray. Though all is dismal and dead beyond the window pane, in- doors the world is bright. ln school such activities as the yearbook campaign and Thanksgiving bas- ket drive are flourishing. At home preparations are being made for the traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Y tri
