Means for Creative Expression Mrs. Dorothy Byers Mr. Charles Hurt Musical talent is being effectively drilled into many of our students. They started with recorders and guitar. Music teachers invited many performers to dance and present native music to clas¬ ses. The object of this was to give the students a wide variety of music. In art students dabbled in skills too numerous to mention. A few included clay modeling, pottery, needlecraft, mosaics, blockprinting, silk screening, painting, drawing, string art, and paper mache work. Mrs. Karen Mackey Mrs. Shirley Strang

for the “Every Day Things” in Life Mr. Jerry Archer Mr. Fred Scango Seventh grade I. A. stu¬ dents built CO 2 cars, built models of inventions, and engaged in individual pro¬ jects of wood and plastic. In eighth grade boys and girls began with mechanical drawing and learned to use the tools of a draftsman. Metal working was included in the program. Some stu¬ dents built models of houses to learn about house con¬ struction, and finished the year by working on small gasoline engines. 15
